Default Import problems

I have to change the entries in a field for several hundred records. I
export to Excel, make the changes, then import back. The problem is I have
File As set for First Name, Last Name, and when I import the records back,
they get changed to Last Name, First Name. Can anyone suggest how to get
around this?

TIA

Rick
