Default Contacts issue

Sometime ago I created a backup of my contacts for my Microsoft Office
Outlook Standard 2003. No matter what I do I cannot export/import the backup
file into the program. Can someone offer some help how to do this without
having to re-enter hundreds of names? I have the backup file stored on my
hard drive in My Documents Folder. When I go to Outlook , then click on
File, then open data file the backup file is not there and I cannot move it
there.

Exporting and importing is never the right way to back up Contacts.
I'd suggest posting what you did more completely and accurately.

I apologize for not being clear, but when I created the contacts in Outlook I
followed whatever the procedure was to create a backup in case I lost the
information for whatever reason. I created an item on my hard drive in My
Documents Folder with the name ContactsBackup Office Data File with a pst
extention. I would still like getting help in getting this information back
into Outllook. I hope things are more clear.

Not really. How you created and populated this PST file is the crucial
information that is needed to determine why you cannot find your backup
file. Is that really the problem? You can't find the file or you can't
access it?
Normally one creates backups by simply making a copy of the PST file.
Nothing else is necessary. Creating a file and exporting to it runs the risk
of making a mistake and will always lose at least some data.

Sooner or later you will have to post some complete, accurate information.
Until you do, we remain at a loss for how to help you.
