Default automatically insert contact's name when making appointment

I want to be click on a contacts' name and have that name appear on my
calendar. If I'm looking at John Smiths contact page, I should be able to
click on the appointment icon and his name/company should automatically
appear on the calendar. This is how Act! works. It's safe to assume that if
I'm clicking on the appointment icon from an individual's contact page that I
want to create an appointment with that individual. Any suggestions please.

Outlook isn't a CRM system - but that said, there are many ways to make
Outlook do things more like Act! does.

You can select the Contact and Actions, New Meeting with Contact.

You can drag a Contact to the Calendar (or any email folder, Tasks folder
etc) to start a new meeting with them (or email, or Task).

Play around with dragging Contacts and whole bunches of the (eg Grouped by
Category) to the various Outlook folders - there are many hidden functions!

When you post in here, always include your version, SP level, and mode (if
applicable) of Outlook - you can find this information in Help | About. Also
include the type of mail account(s) you use and any other pertinent details.
Be sure to put a concise summary of your question in the subject line, and
the full details in the body of your post.

Outlook was written by a different set of programmers than Act and if they'd
copy all of Act's features, it would get them a copyright infringement
lawsuit.

How about Actions, New appointment with contact when you have the contact
selected?
