I just got it solved! I did the obvious! I exported the *.cer file from the
Intermediate Certificate Authorities and Imported it into the Trusted Root Certification! Duh! Sometimes the obvious is SO difficult! Thanks VERY MUCH for your help!!! ;-) "neo [mvp outlook]" wrote: Assuming UAC is on. Open an elevated command prompt and run mmc. Select file add/remove snapin. Add the certificates snapin for the "local computer" At this point add the certificate (and/or issuing certificate authority cert) to the trusted root store. "Tom" wrote in message ... Windows Vista Ultimate Office/Outlook 2007 I'm in the process of migrating from WinXP Pro SP3/Office 2003 SP3 to WinVista Ultimate/Office 2007 so I can migrate later this year to Windows 7. I'm able to connect to my Exchange Server 2003 via IE7 on my new WinVista Ultimate machine. However, connecting via Outlook 2007 isn't possible. I keep getting the Error Code 8 for an invalid/improper certificate. When I connected to my Exchange mailserver (mail2.myexchangeserver.com) via OWA I got the certificate error notice. So, I downloaded and installed the certificate and everything is fine when I go to OWA now. When I go into Outlook 2007 after the configuration of the Exchange Server (no changes from the Outlook 2003 settings) I get that Outlook 2007 can't connect due to an invalid cerificate. Ok, so now I go into IE7 to get the certificate 'upgraded' (ToolsInternet OptionsContent tabCertificatesIntermediate Certificate Authorities) and I see the certificate listed (1st one listed at mail2.myexchangeserver.com). So, I think I need to 'move' it to the Trusted Root Certification but I don't know WHERE it's at physically. So, what's my location or NEXT step? Seems SO simple! I've even done a search on C:\ for *.cer and *.crt but nothing comes up. I've looked under the Users folder and I don't see anything. [Note: I've enable seeing the system directories and files in WinVista via Organize option in Explorer.] TIA! |
