Default Outlook "Check Name" Resloves Wrong Domain

We recently switched to Outlook 2007, and when connecting to our Exchange
server when a user enters their info i.e. server: mail.somedomain.com and
user: "UserName" and hits "Check Name" the server then resloves to the
"somdomain.com.local". The problem being is now we get a certificate error
because the certificate is for mail.somedomain.com. There there any way to
fix this?
