Default Outlook 2002 won't start in Vista

Office XP Pro was working with Vista, but since an inadvertant shutdown
during an update I get an error saying Outlook can't start without Outlook
Express installed. I have reinstalled the OS and Office XP with no luck. Any
ideas?

See if repairing the Office XP installation helps.

I have run the Office XP repair. I have unintstalled it and reinstalled it. I installed a stand-alone copy of Outlook 2002. I reinstalled the OS.

Look in the Registry at:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}]

If the IsInstalled value is 0 then change it to 1 and see if that helps.

I am having the same issue, but my IsInstalled value is 1. Outlook 2002 (in
Vista) still crashes during start-up; therefore, never starting up. Any
other advice?
