How can i prevent users from creating .PST in the default location?
Hello all,
We're struggling with the following issue: Some of our users create .PST files on their own without checking where they actually put it. By default it's %userprofile%\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\ and since we're working in a TS\Citrix environment we choose not to include the local settings part in the roaming profile. So whenever they log off and log on again, no more pst. I've tried looking for GPO settings to prevent them from creating pst files, but it's not possible in Outlook 2000, that's what i've found out so far. So now i'd like to know if it's possible to change that default path for .PSTs to somewhere else, systemwide. By default to their homedir instead of the local settings part of their profile. Anyone with an idea how i can do this? Thanks |

Search google for Outlook Profile Thanks for the info, but it's not what i was looking for. This can and will pre-create a pst file for a user, but this does not prevent the user to create a new pst file. Creating a pst file is not a problem, the problem is that they simply click and create their new or additional pst file in a part of their profile (%userprofile%\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\ )that is not written away during log off. anyone else any ideas? |
