I keep getting this error on a send mail to a SMTP server. I am using Outlook
2003 and against a comcast SMTP server. The ISP is no help. He switched me to port 587, which I also enabled on my router. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, |

More update,
When I use the email account setup, to test the settings, it works. The test message is sent and received too. But when I hit the Send/Receive button on the menu bar, it does not work. What could be wrong? I have checked for Office updates, I am current with those. Searches in MS Knowledge-databases and Google comes out to be empty. There is one hit that came close to giving me a patch - this was some universit asking for log-in when selected. Additionally, when I iuse the ISP's web-site to send emails, it works.
