Default Signature button not responding

I am trying to set up a signature. When I select the signature button in
either new email mode or through the options box it does nothing. Do I need
to re-install or get a patch or something?

Have you set up your Signature in Outlook\Tools\Options\Mail Format\Signatures

That is the button that isn't working. I have spoken to Microsoft and it has
to do with the way the OEM was set up. Hopefully it will be rectified by the
retailer shortly.
