Default Outlook 2003 Multiple Email Accounts, Export to CSV File

I have Office 2000 Small Business (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher) that was
working fine. Then I upgraded to Outlook 2003 and Word 2003.

Within Outlook, in the Inbox page, my first 2 email accounts work but my 3rd
does not. All three are displayed but only the first 2 will send or receive.
The first is a roadrunner account and the second and third are hotmail
accounts. All three accounts work outside of Outlook. Any suggestions on
how to fix? They are all set up the same.

In trying to use my 3rd email account outside of Outlook, I find that when I
try to export the contacts, only a part of the names, no emails get exported.
I am wondering if it is because it's Outlook 2003 and Excel 2000? Any way
to fix?

Thanks,

I'd start with a new mail profile and see if that fixed it.

Why are you trying to export the contacts? Tell us of the purpose and
perhaps someone can suggest an alternative. It's true that versions of the
Office components must match to integrate, but you should be able to export
from Outlook with or without any version of Excel installed. The real
question is why you want to export.

In your prior post, you said you wanted to go back to OL 2000. Are you
aware that you can't access Hotmail and an email account using Outlook 2000?
Hotmail in Outlook wasn't supported until Outlook 2002?

Default Outlook 2003 Multiple Email Accounts, Export to CSV File

Thanks, Brian! On my other email, I asked about removing Outlook and Word
2003 because I was tired of trying to make it work. If I can resolve the
problems, I would keep it because I like having everything in one place.

Your first suggestion: since Roadrunner and Hotmail have different
settings, do I create a profile for each? Currently, I only have Roadrunner
settings in my Profile, called "Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings". Also,
what is a pst file? Do I need one?

For your second question, I want to export the emails to my 2nd Hotmail
account because:
1. so many of my emails from Roadrunner (my main account) have been
rejected by AOL and Yahoo users, so I want to use Hotmail,
2. I havent been able to use the 2nd hotmail account (my 3rd accountinside
of Outlook 2003
3. I have hundreds of email contacts to take over there and I don't want to
type them in
4. I used the export feature as prescribed but it only transfers part of
the names (not all) and does not transfer any of the email addresses.
5. It would also be nice as a backup of my data.

I appreciate your help!

You should be able to have both accounts in a single mail profile.

Also, what is a pst file? Do I need one?

Personal Folders file. Yes, you'll have one. You have one right now. The
fodlers you see in Outlook are all in it.

For your second question, I want to export the emails to my 2nd
Hotmail account because:
1. so many of my emails from Roadrunner (my main account) have been

If your Hotmail account is working, you should be able to drag-and-drop the
items in the default folders (where the Roadrunner data is) to your Hotmail
folders (where the data stays on the Hotmail server). However, to send mail
via the Hotmail account, you don't have to move anything. Just choose the
Hotmail account with the Accounts button when you compose a new message or
reply to an existing one.

2. I havent been able to use the 2nd hotmail account (my 3rd
accountinside of Outlook 2003

Is the second Hotmail account a paid account or a free one? If the latter,
how long have you had it?

3. I have hundreds of email contacts to take over there and I don't
want to type them in

There's no need to move the contacts to the Hotmail folders.

4. I used the export feature as prescribed but it only transfers
part of the names (not all) and does not transfer any of the email
addresses.

Describe exactly how you do it.

5. It would also be nice as a backup of my data.

Exports are not backups and should never be used for backup purposes.
