Desktop Alert Pop Up
I have one associate who doesn't recieve new email pop up's even though
the "Display A New Mail Desktop Alert" box is checked off. Also under the Desktop Alert Settings I tried clicking preview and nothing happened. This is what I have tried so far without any luck: 1. Unchecked the "Display A New Mail Desktop Alert box" shutdown Oultook, started Outlook and checked off the box, shutdown Outlook again and started it back up. Still no New Mail desktop Alert. 2. Ran detect and repair, after repair still not recieving new mail desktop alert. There are no pop blockers installed, scanned for spyware (none found), the AV installed is the same one used on all our workstations and none of them are having the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? |

From the post log, I understand that the feature " Display A New Mail Desktop Alert " doesn't work on one client. I notice that you have tried the Preview but still nothing happens. It seems that the Outlook profile may be corrupt. To narrow down this issue, please try the following suggestions to check the results: Suggestion 1. Create a new profile ===================== This issue may be caused by the damaged profile. Let's try to create a new profile in Outlook and then test if the problem persists in the new profile. Note: A new Profile is a new environment for us to use Outlook. To create a new Profile is only for a test to see if the problem is related to the corrupt Profile of Outlook. Creating new Profile will not do any damage to the old Profile. 1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. Click Switch to Classic View, and then click the Mail icon. 3. In the Mail Setup dialog box, click the Show Profiles button. 4. On the General tab, click to select the Prompt for a profile to be used check box. 5. Click Add. 6. In the Profile Name box, type a descriptive name for the new profile, and then click OK. 7. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next. 8. Select the appropriate server type for your new e-mail account, and then click Next. 9. Fill in the appropriate information as prompted to configure the account again, and then click Next. 10. Click OK. 11. Restart Outlook and select the new profile in the popup window. (b) Click Start- Control Panel, click "switch to the classic view" and then double click User accounts Icon. (c) Click the Add button to create a new Windows account, type the username and domain then click next, click other tab and select administrator, click finish. (d) Log off the current user and log on to Windows with the new account. (e) Start Outlook and configure the correct e-mail account settings in Outlook and then perform a test.
