Default How do I pass parameters to application invoked by Outlook rule?

I need to pass a parameters into an application, invoked by Outlook Rule,
when an e-mail message is received.
I would like to pass at least a subject of the message for which the rule
was activated.
Any ideas?

what syntax does the application that you are calling offer for passing parameters? What version of Outlook?
