Hello people,

i have install outlook 2003 (before i was used outlook 2000)
so i have backuped myn PST file.

but someone tell me to do not directly import the PST to 2003 because like
that it will not use the new PST from 2003 ! Just ? and is this is just how
make a PST Version 2003 ?

Import/Export rarely reccomended, as it often leads to problems.
Assuming OL2003 functioning with a new pst, In OL FileOpenData File....
browse to location of old pst.
Then copy data from old to new, on completion close the old pst

Export/Import always loses some data and often corrupts it.

They haven't. Most of these problems are actually end user error.
Export is a command used to convert Outlook data to another data type. It
was never intended to provide an exact copy of Outlook data and in fact
never has. To generate an exact copy of an Outlook data file you use Windows
Explorer's copy command to copy the data file.

It has long been well documented that exporting loses the following data
from an Outlook file:
1. Custom Forms
2. Custom Views
3. Connections between contacts and activities
4. Received dates on mail
5. Birthdays and anniversaries in calendar
6. Journal connections
7. Distribution Lists

Moreover, many users copy their exported PST file before closing it's
connection to Outlook. That corrupts it beyond repair.
Users can still use export to transfer data if they think there is some
reason to as long as they do it correctly and don't mind losing the data
listed above.
