Default Can't change default delivery folder

I am fighting this migrating to a new computer problem. I have gotten my old
personal and archive folders to the right location on the new computer. I
have even recreated the profile. I go into Outlook and shows my two old data
files and a new emply outlook1.pst. I go to tools-e-mail accounts and try to
change the delivery address to my old personal file. I then re-start Outlook.
I find that it is still pointing to the Outlook1.pst file, not the one I
tried to point it to. I have turned off Symantec anti-virus on e-mails, but
that didn't effect anything. Any ideas?

There is no "right" location. Outlook doesn't care where the PSTs are
located.

I have even recreated the profile.

Describe exactly how you did this and what you saw at each step.

I go into Outlook and
shows my two old data files and a new emply outlook1.pst. I go to
tools-e-mail accounts and try to change the delivery address to my
old personal file.

Does the change seem to take at this point?

I then re-start Outlook. I find that it is still
pointing to the Outlook1.pst file, not the one I tried to point it
to.

I can't see how this would occur. If you describe exactly what you do and
what you see, perhaps someone will see a missing step and be able to tell
you how to fix it. Be sure to include your Outlook version and account
type.
