I decided and set my post to IMAP because it fits better my network needs.
It looks OK so far, but I have 3 question: 1) When I open MSOutlook 2003, I get, as default, Personal folders expanded and IMAP folder collapsed. Is there a way to reverse this? 2) Also, the send/receive which is performed when I open the mail, is it done now for IMAP as well? Sometimes I get the impression that I can see new mail only when I click the Inbox in IMAP...but I am not sure. 3) Last, I guess there is no way to get a pop up window when a new email arrives, like in pop3, because it is not on my PC but on the server..right? Thanks Alex |

Check the Inbox for the account in the Send/Receive group. 3) Last, I guess there is no way to get a pop up window when a new email arrives, like in pop3, because it is not on my PC but on the server..right? Brian,
On Point 1), actually I have found out that: You can chang the default folder going into Tools/Options/OtherTab/AdvancedOptions then you go to "Startup in this Folder" and browse the one you want to be opened as default. You can also get the Personal Folders collapsed by doing so and click File/Exit. MSOutlook remembers the latest position you set your folders. Unfortunately, this does not work with IMAP folders, even if you leave it expanded, it opens back as collapsed. Cheers "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ...
