Default How to get Outlook to stop displaying an envelope on task bar?

Outlook portrays an envelope/icon on my task bar when it receives a new
message. My system slows. I open Task Manager and find "Outlook.Exe" using
resources. Sometimes, I find more than one "Outlook.Exe" using resources.
Only when I end these tasks, can I rid my task bar of the envelope. Then, my
system recovers.

I want to know how to disable Outlook from using up these resources to
display a white envelope on my task bar, presumably to alert me to new
messages.

In Outlook, click ToolsOptionsE-mail OptionsAdvanced E-mail Options and
unckeck "Show an envelope icon in the notification area" to stop the display
of the envelope icon.

Sounds like you have other problem, though, if you're seeing more than one
OUTLOOK.EXE in the Task Manager. See if something here helps:
