Default Office 2003 Outlook - Accessing Floppy Disk

When I start the Outlook application (and during its use) the floppy disk
light comes on for a period of time and then goes off.

The software was installed from its CD with no problems and appears to
operate correctly in all other respects.

I can't locate this problem and a resolution in the Knowledge Base.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
