Outlook should change the delete icon from the "X" to something else, it
looks too much like the "close window X". I lost an important note and
others in my office have as well due to that similarity. What I thought was
a close, was actually a delete.

The X icon for delete is a good distance away from the corner of the title
bar when X for close is. The only similarity is two crossed lines - the
colors and shape are much different.

Is your office using exchange server? if so, you may be able to recover the
deleted items.
