To places to check in regards to archiving...
1) Tools | Options | Other tab | Archive settings This is where you check to see if the feature is on, how often it runs, and to set which PST file to use by default 2) Right click on the folder in question and select properties. Go to the archive tab. This is where you can turn on/off the archive feature and override some of the default (global) settings. Other than that, Outlook looks at 3 dates on an item to determine if it is eligible for archiving. These dates are sent, received, and last modified. If any of these dates are blank, Outlook treats the date as 1/1/4501 and the item will never be eligible for archiving. Easiest way to see all three dates on an item is to open the message in question and then pick File | Properties.
