Using Windows XP and Office 2007
I have my default Outlook calendar and have created a second public calendar that is shared with others on my Exchange server. The default reminder setting for my default Outlook calendar is 1 hour. That seems to also be the default reminder setting for the things I put on the public calendar. However, the public calendar items do not need reminders. But when I change the default reminder setting to "none," that has now become the default reminder setting for my personal calendar as well. Is there a way to set separate defaults for separate calendars?? |

How are you creating the appointments? Here items created directly in the PF
do not have reminders set. If you create it elsewhere and move to the PF, the reminder won't fire but you might be get an annoying dialog telling you this. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Poll: What version of Exchange server do you use? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=33803 "BK" wrote in message ... I am actually creating the calendar appointment directly on the public
calendar. It just seems that when I click on Tools | Options and set the default reminder, it is the same default reminder for my personal calendar AND my public calendar. Whatever I set for one affects the other as well. "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote in message ... How are you creating the appointments? Here items created directly in the PF do not have reminders set. correct, there is only one reminder setting.
What version of outlook? reminders do not fire from public folders and are not added when you create it directly on in the calendar. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Poll: What version of Exchange server do you use? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=33803 "BK" wrote in message ...
