Hi All,
I am using outlook 2003. I updated it from outlook 2000. I noticed on my hard drive that there are several mailbox.pst files. Are these leftovers from outlook 2000? Can I delete them if outlook 2003 doesn't need them? Thanks for any help. -- Regards, Gary Metzler send to: http://www.outtasighttravel.com Msn messenger: Skype name: garymetz |

Only if you have made sure your current Outlook profile isn't using any of

Within Outlook, Personal Folders, rt click, Properties.....check the path
And since you upgraded, also check what it states in Format, if it states 97 - 2002 there are some other things you need to do. "Gary Metzler" wrote in message ... You need to check the path to your PST files in Outlook to see which you are
using. If you have more than one Outlook profile, check in each. -- Russ Valentine "Gary Metzler" wrote in message ... I'd open them in outlook using file, open, outlook data file and verify the
contents are not needed. Only then would I delete it from the hard drive. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Poll: What version of Outlook do you use? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=27072 "Gary Metzler" wrote in message ... Hi DL,
I have a stupid question. How do I get to the properties to find the path to my pst files. I forgot to mention that I am blind and use a screen reader. I don't use a conventional mouse. Is there any easy way to view the properties? thanks for any help. "DL" wrote in message ... I'm not sure how a screen reader works, but the Properties for your PST file
reside in the context menu (R click menu) of the root folder in your Outlook profile (usually called "Personal Folders" or "Outlook Today"). The "Advanced" Button will then expose the name of the file, including the path statement. -- Russ Valentine "Gary Metzler" wrote in message ... Hi DL, I have a stupid question. Hi Diane,
What I did was put the files in the re-cycle bin and so far nothing has gone wrong. For some reason I can't find a way to view the path to the current files. I forget which Windows version you are using - if its vista, the default
path is C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook on windows xp, its C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook just replace 'username' with your windows account name. These folders are hidden in windows but if you use the full path, you should see the contents easily. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Poll: What version of Outlook do you use? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=27072 "Gary Metzler" wrote in message ...
