I am using outlook 2003 with windows xp home sr3. I had to re-configure
some of my settings in outlook. How would I get outlook to start in the

It's in the same location in all current versions - Tools, Options, Other
tab, Advanced options button. Select the start up folder at the top of the
dialog - you'll want to select the very top of the folder tree - it may be
marked "personal folders - gary" or similar.

(It's moved in Outlook 2010, along with everything else. )

Select the very top folder - 'Mailbox - xxxxx' from the Folder List View.
This will show you Outlook Today.

In order to set it so that it defaults to that, select 'Customize Outlook
Today...' from the right hand side.
Then simply tick the box labelled 'When starting, go directly to Outlook
Today.

Regards

Hi Diane,

thanks again for all your help. I have another question. I started with
office 2000 than upgraded to office 2003. I have some files on my hard
drive called mailbox.pst I would like to know if they are leftover from
office 2000 and, can I delete them? Any help would be most appreciated.
thanks,
