Default cannot remove add-ins

Outlook has been crashing quite a lot lately and I'm trying to remove
some of the add-ins. However, there are add-ins I cannot remove with
an error message saying that it needs an administrator to remove it.
But I am an admin or part of the admin group. Why is it behaving like
this? What's the solution? Thanks.

Is your operating system Vista or Windows 7? The reason I ask is that under
these two operating systems, UAC may be interfering with what you are trying
to do.

To add to Neo's reply;
In that case, right click on the Outlook icon and choose to run it as
administrator. You should have no issues removing those add-ins then.
Restart Outlook normally when finished.
