Default Outlook Connector not receiving Hotmail

Hi All,
My outlook connector has stopped working properly I have been using it for
years with outlook 2002, 2003 and 2007 (2007 for about 1 1/2 Years) never had
a problem after setup.
I get a problem with the sync services and am advised to...
To resume services follow the instructions here
http://g.live.com/10LC12URL/3212
Error 4104.
Interestingly this only takes me tot he MSN home page.

Ok if I remove and reinstall outlook connector after first removing the
hotmail account from outlook (I have also installed office after numerous
attempts)
I get the hotmail account to connect and I have only the basic folders
Inbox, draft Junk mail and sent.
Unfortunately while I can send from this account nothing arrives in my inbox
on outlook, web mail shows new messages and I can view and them.

Any further help would be appreciated.

To continue to receive e-mail from your Hotmail account, you need to select
one of the methods below to connect to Hotmail before September 1, 2009.
After this, new e-mail can only be delivered to your mail programs through
the following solutions.

If you use Outlook 2003/2007, you can download the free Outlook Connector to
continue receiving Hotmail. If you're using Outlook 2002, you will need to
change the account to use POP3. If you use Outlook Express to view Hotmail,
you can choose between downloading Windows Live Mail (free) or reconfigure
your account to use POP3. See

Hi Gordon,
I donwnloaded and installed the Latest version 12.1 (not sure why they call
it 12.1 when it is actually 12.0.6423) Guess thier rounding up.

Anyway this version does not allow me to see Outlook connector in the the
menu bar at the top of the screen but does show outlook connector as a type
when adding a new email address. Similarly the server status is now not
displayed in the bottom right hand corner. Just so you know I have
uninstalled outlook connector a few times now and have even uninstalled
office a few times but nothing seems to help my Hotmail account, other
accounts are working fine.

Cheers

I agree, I did back up Outlook fully. It's just I can't resist doing the CSV
thing in addition. There's something reassuring about being able to see and
read those files :-)

Exporting to CSV does not make for a faithful backup. That's not how to
backup Outlook. However, it's nice to hear it's working again.

I am also getting errors trying to sync with my Hotmail via Outlook
Connector. I'm using Outlook 2007 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 and Outlook Connector
12.0.6423.1000. The error in the Synchronization log says:
The following issues occurred while synchronizing with the server:

Error with Send/Receive.

Folder Collection Sync Key: 0{aa1ea803-1ee1-46f5-abb2-121dd53e0a15}559

Message Collection Sync Key: 0{61bcf4bf-5b25-4ef4-a64e-20e731d696aa}559

Interestingly, if I exit Outlook, and restart it, it will synchronize once
with Hotmail, but then it will start giving errors until I restart Outlook
again.

I recently installed outlook on my computer. I am no longer using the email through my msn home page. Am I supposed to be using hotmail only or can I use the email address shown above. If I can use the email address shown above how do I get them to be in sync. I am not sure if I used the proper settings for this.

I have had similar problems with connector and was told to delete all *.ost files. There were several so I figured this made sense. Uninstalled connector and reinstalled creating account again. As before it still only downloaded emails the first time and subsequently gave the folder name error. Are there some other files or keys that need to be deleted to reset all perhaps? Aside from the bad link on updating seems like there are these other bugs in new update, is MS addressing?
