If Outlook is open, Word and Excel won't

I have a user that can't have Outlook open and use Word or Excel at the same
time. When you click on a Word document, for instance, you get the hour
glass and then the folder that contains the document says 'not responding.'

When Outlook is closed, documents open fine. She has Office 2007 Standard.

Any ideas?

Are there any corresponding entries for Office or Outlook in the event
viewer?
