Using Outlook 2007 and latest Windows Live Mail. When I setup my to Hotmail accounts in Windows
Live Mail (using latest 32bit XP with all updates and my Office has all updates) I see all my email as I do when I use webmail. But when I use Outlook nothing shows up in my Inbox for both Hotmail accounts. The outbox of each work fine (SMTP). I just set up the Hotmail account as a POP and its working fine: 995 as port for incoming with SSL 587 as port for outgoing with "encrypted connection" not SSL but set to Auto. So does HTTP mail not work with Outlook like it does with Windows Live Mail? |

Were there actually any e-mails sitting in the Inbox folder (when using the webmail client to check) that had never been before retrieved into OL2007? That is, were the actually some new e-mails in your mailbox for OL2007 to find? That adds support for HTTP/Deltasync (versus the old HTTP/WebDAV access method). WLM uses Deltasync. No version of Outlook (or Outlook Express) supports Deltasync. For Outlook (versions 2003, and up), you need to install the add-on to add Deltasync support. |

1. Are you leaving mail on the server? If not, the POP account is deleting
it. 2. Support for the HTTP protocol is ending. You need to use POP3 or the outlook connector to access hotmail in Outlook. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "Rick Z" oooo.ooo.com wrote in message ...
