I have Vista Ultimate and Outlook 2007. Everytime I try to open up a link...whether it is a link to IE or a e-mail address I get the error message" The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I have reset the defaults and made IE and Outlook the defaults. Please help.

Either you don't have a default web browser selected or you need to reset IE. http://www.slipstick.com/problems/link_restrict.htm http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310049 |

This is a problem with IE, its not an Outlook error. You need to reset your
internet settings in IE's Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab. (Or Control panel, Internet options, Advanced tab). See http://www.slipstick.com/problems/link_restrict.htm for more information. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "Trigg" wrote in message ... I saw a different solution from another source. I uninstalled EI8 and went back to EI 7 and then made everything defaults and that solved everything. Thanks for the suggestions though.

None... other than try the IE groups as the problem is with IE.
I'm not sure which group is the best, or if there is an IE8 group - but you can start he http://www.microsoft.com/communities...orer. general -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "Trigg" wrote in message ... No, no updates. The best bet if setting IE as default doesn't work is to
check the IE groups - it’s a problem with IE and they know more about it that we do. Do you have firefox or another browser installed? That seems to be one trigger - I don't know if it will help to uninstall it and set IE as default then reinstall it after you verify outlook works. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "Boo" wrote in message ...
