I broke down and purchased Outlook 2003 since after using the trial
version my old Outlook would not function properly. Now I cannot open 2003 and search cannot find Outlook 2000. I get a message that there are folders that cannot be opened. Thanks, Sherry C |

Thanks, Sherry C Be careful- if you (or the program) have converted the data files to the later format. It changed from the 2003 version onwards and the older program versions can't read the newer pst file format. The change allowed larger files- the older format was limited by a maximum 2Gb file size, the newer can be 20Gb. You can only have one version of the program installed so you would need to remove the 2003 and reinstall the earlier one if that is what you want to run. Have you tried fixing the newer one that you bought? What have you tried to fix it? |

I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and have tried the repair on
the setup. I removed the trial version but when Outlook tries to open....it opens briefly to the 2003 background then the trial version end of trial box pops up momentarily then I get the message that some folders cannot be opened. I am not completely computer illiterate but an amateur. The whole opening/closing takes less than a second. Thanks, Sherry |

Create a new mail profile and configure Outlook to use your existing .pst
file. Control Panel-Mail Icon-Profiles-New. Do NOT copy your old profile - it is corrupt. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
