Hello Everyone,
I'm fairly new when it comes to working with Public Folders in Outlook 2007, so when a friend asked me about working with them today I was unsure of how to proceed. There are two things I'm trying to figure out for my friend. The first thing I wanted to know is whether or not it's possible to use a public folder to store email templates. My friend has some knowledge of how Outlook works, but is hoping to find a relatively painless solution for sharing email templates with his coworkers. I'm familiar with how to create a template file, but as for sharing them using a Public Folder I'm stumped. The second thing that I wanted to know is whether or not it's possible to create a shortcut to a public folder within an individuals "mailbox". Currently it seems like the only way they are able to view public folders is to click on the "Folders" icon, then scroll down to and expand "Public Folders", then expand "All Public Folders" then click on the desired folder. This might not sound like a lot of work to most people, but to some users this seems like a lot of 'digging' in order to get what they need. I played around with some public folders at my office recently, but when I tried to 'copy' a public folder into my mailbox it simply copied and pasted the data that was within the folder. Although that works in a sense, my problem is that if anyone where to add another file to this 'dynamic' public folder, the 'static' copy I have created would not be updated accordingly. I hope my questions make sense.. If anyone could offer some advice it would be greatly apprceciated. I'm a first time poster, but having read some of the other discussions here it seems like there are a lot of very helpful people around! Thanks in advance!! -Adam |

1. Drag the templates to the public folder.
2. Version of Outlook? Add the folder to public folder favorites. If using outlook 2003 or 2007 you can put them on the mail favorites list (and other folder types will be on the proper nav pane.) -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Thanks so much Diane! You've been a big help.
I think my initial efforts on this were making it a lot harder than was necessary. Oh the wonders of the drag and drop. Cheers! Adam "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: 1.
