create a rule to display a message box for all new mail - then double click
the message to read it. Security concerns eliminated all possibility of opening mail automatically, although spammers would probably love the ability. ![]() -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Thanks Diane. I had it working when I first installed it, so that, with new
messages, they were displayed in the inbox. Wish I could remember what I did ![]() -- Shirley "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: create a rule to display a message box for all new mail - then double click the message to read it. All new messages should be in the Inbox unless you use rules to move them
elsewhere. If so, use the unread mail folder to see them. Simply selecting the message in the message list should show it in the Reading pane (or double click to open it in a new window). -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. What happens is that the Mail Folders (on the left side Inbox ) shows the
number of unread emails, but they don't automatically go into the Inbox on the right side, above the reading pane. So, I have to right-click and choose 'open' to get then into the list of emails. Double-clicking on the Inbox on left side does nothing. I hope you understand...kind of difficult to put into words. -- Shirley "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: All new messages should be in the Inbox unless you use rules to move them elsewhere. So new mail comes in but it doesn't display until you change or refresh the
folder? This is usually caused by a NAT router or firewall.
