I'm using Office 2007 (under Vista Home Premium, SP1) along with a Dutch
language pack (for Office 2007). When I right click on a word that is underlined in red as being misspeleed, the option to add to the dictionary is grayed out. Suggestions? Thanks, Dave Horne |

In which language are you working? I don't know much about this, but in
Outlook, Tools | Options | Spelling | Spelling and AutoCorrection... | Custom Dictionaries... you need to ensure the custom dictionary specified is set for the language in which you're composing. If your default dictionary in the dictionary list is set for Dutch and you're composing in English, you won't be able to add to it unless the default custom dictionary is set for English or All Languages. From this dialog, highlight the .DIC file marked as "(Default)" in the Dictionary List and set the desired dictionary language for it from the drop down list. This needs to be set to the same language you're using to compose or to All Languages. It's this default dictionary for the specified language to which words will be added. I can't be much more help from there, unfortunately. -- -Patrick Reed "Dave Horne" wrote in message ... Patrick, thanks for your reply. I changed the custom.dic to 'all languages'
and that did the trick. Thank you. I now see Add to Dictionary when working in both languages. If the setting doesn't stick to the hard drive I'll be back with more questions. Thanks!
