I have been running Outlook 2007 reasonably happily. It suddenly stopped
working and suggests that windows will look for a solution and then to close the program. When I start the program again it asks if I want to start in safe mode. I have answered both yes and no - the program still won't restart. I then tried repairing the program and reinstalling Office 2007 - to no avail. The other Office Suite programs are working fine - not Outlook. I'm running Vista Home |

Sorry Vince I am a little more inexperienced than that. Is there not an easy
fix/ Reinstalling but I haven't completed it correctly?? Why has Outlook just suddenly stopped working like that? I am having the same problem as Quentin. The only difference is that I am
able to run Outlook on safe mode perfectly. I get the "stopped working" msg when i run the normal outlook. My problem started last night when I installed the service pack 1. I am running vista x64 ultimate. For all tech gurus please explain in a 101 manner for those of us with less experience ![]() Thanks |

*Update*
I tried running the scapst.exe and while it worked for the first few minutes, as soon as I restarted the computer outlooked crashed giving the same msg as Quintin: "Outlook has stopped working. A problem cuased the program to start working correctly. Windows will close the problem and notify you if a solution is available. " The one thing I noticed is that it does this when it "sends/receives" at start-up. If this helps, I think (not 100% sure) this started when there was a plaxo update. |

I am also having a similar problem. I was working with Outlook 2007 fine,
and then I began getting these messages as soon as I reached the email screen. I have repaired Outlook twice to no effect. I am running Vista Ultimate. I have not upgraded to service package 1, although I have loaded all the recommended updates Microsoft recommended (after this problem occurred). I cannot find scanpst.exe on my system and have been unable to download it from anywhere on the net. This is a mess. It's been a week since we've been able to access our email.
