Default Unable to send messages

Hi all,

I have just set up an account in a new install of Outlook 2007 and can
receive mail, but, for some reason I can not send messages. I have checked
every setting I can think of to see what might be causing it not to send,
and I have run out of ideas. I am hoping someone here can assist me in
tracking down the problem so I can fix it. I have made sure that the
required outgoing permissions are correct.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Well, you haven't provided enough detail for any of us to come up with any
ideas, so you may not get an answer. What kind of account? Who's your ISP?
Do you get any error messages? Are you running an AntiVirus program that's
setup to scan your email? What kind of add-ins (if any) are you using?

As far as I know it is a regular User account, the same kind of account that
you have when you first set up an account in OE or Windows Mail. I did a
manual setup. SP info for incoming and outgoing is correct.

ISP = Verizon
AV = NOD32 Paid verison, No email scan
Error = None, it just won't send, just sits in the Outbox
Add-Ins= None

I just set up the account this afternoon, and I can receive fine, just can't
send. I did recieve a test a Microsoft test message after it was first set
up to let me know it was there, and I recieved it in my WinMail account.
But, it won't send any user messages.

When you used the option to Test Account Settings, were there any errors on
the errors tab? Are you using the same ISP to send all email or are you
using an alternate ISP server?

I use only one ISP, Verizon. This morning I sent a message from me to me at
my personal email address as a test and it suddenly went through. Not sure
what changed, but, it seems to be working ok now.

Thank you for your time and help. :-)
