I have started having problems sending mail from outlook,
the server ends up timing out, i have outlook 2003 SP3, when downloading messages it is also leaving them on the server and downloading them 3 times in the same send receive. I have checked the settings and it is not set to leave message on server, I can go to the ISP site and use the mailbox on webmail and there is no problems. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks, Paul |

Have you completely disabled the mail scanning feature of any antivirus program you have? Is your send/receive interval value no shorter than ten minutes? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Do you receive any error messages? If so, what is the exact text? What happens when you click the Test button for the account? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Hi Brian,
The Messages below are what happens when i test account settings. a.. Send test email message: The specified server was found, but there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct. To access these settings close this dialog, then click more settings and click on the advanced tab. b.. Find outgoing mail server (SMTP): Outlook could not connect to the outgoing mail server (SMTP). The problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support SSL. Verify your port and SSL settings in More Settings under the advanced tab. When in outlook and click send/recieve the error message is (0x80042109). I have been to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514/en-us which deals with this error and tried everything in there exept checking the SSL and port as i figure if the same settings work for outlook express it should be OK. Thanks, Paul "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... Paul wrote: Yes have tried all of these, I have enabled outlook express and all the same settings in express work without a problem.
