I am using Outlook 2007, which receives E-mails from Microsoft Exchange
Server 2003. We are sharing a common E-Mail Box. If before I check my E-Mail, someone else has checked the E-Mails of today and replied, and after that, I logon and check same E-Mails, all E-Mails received by me are received as marked "READ". How can I create a rule so that any E-Mail I receive should be marked as "UNREAD". Best Regards, Luqman |

You can't as they are received already. You could assign categories for when
you've read an item. This way the people you share the mailbox with will know who has read it and who has not and makes cleaning up the mailbox a lot easier. To mimic an unread items folder you can create a custom view which hides all items with the category of your name. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "Luqman" wrote in message ... Hi,
My Issue is that I daily receive 50-80 messages in this common Mail Box and I want to know, which message I did not read yet, I am not concerned with if anyone has already read it or not. I hope you understand what I mean. I will appreciate if you please let me know any alternate or using custom action /script in Rules so that my Message should marked as "Unread" whenever I received on my PC or Laptop. I am currently using Lotus Notes with the Domino Server and it already has this option, now due to excellent features in Microsoft Exchange, we want to switch to it. Thanks for your help and await your kind assistance. Best Regards, Luqman "Roady [MVP]" t wrote in message ... You can't as they are received already. Mails in shared mailboxes have already been received so there is nothing you
can do with scripts or whatever; you all see the same info. Instead of using a mailbox your group could consider using a mail enabled Public Folder to receive mail in. These allow for personal views and read/write status. Ask your mail admin to set it up. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "Luqman" wrote in message ... How about setting up a rule to forward the messages in question to your own
mailbox? There, they will certainly stay unread until you read them. -- GB "Luqman" wrote in message ...
