Default Autoarchive in Outlook 2007

I have a folder configured to autoarchive items older than 1 month.
Autoarchiving happens every 14 days as default, however, I notice items 6
months old in my folder. Why is that?

probably because Autoarchive works based on the date last modified. So that

but I haven't even touched those messages. They are all there since August
and not a single one of them has been archived? is it possible that they
have all been modified? (but by whom and why?)

Add the Modified Date to the columns to see when they were last modified (remember, opening and moving, as well as importing will change that date)

After furious head scratching, Andreas Y. asked:
