Default Word and Outlook 2003 window sizes interconnected?

This was posted a while back in another newsgroup but there were no
replies.

I am running Outlook 2003 and have this exact same issue.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks.

When a message is prepared in a window smaller than
maximized and sent with the window the same size, when Word is opened as normal, the window size of the opening
session is the same size as the Outlook window.

Is this normal. How can it be changed so the two
applications do not effect each other?

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks,

This is the problem of using Word as e-mail editor for Outlook 2002. The two
inevitably interact as you have found. There are two solutions and you may
not like either of them

1. Don't use Word as e-mail editor in Outlook. Outlook has its own editor
which is quite up to the task.
2. Think about changing to Office 2007. Outlook is much better in 2007 and
has its own Word-like editor, but Word itself is something of a culture
shock.

Actually, Word itself is the only editor Outlook 2007 has. It's not
"Word-like", it is Word.

My understanding was that it is a subset of Word?

My understanding was that it was (finally) quite divorced from Word.

Outlook 2007 uses a special .dll of Word that is substantially cut down from the full Word program, so, technically, it uses Word-lite for its message editor.
