in the setup of outlook, it says incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP. Our service is through Bellsouth.net. Basically, the owner wants to be able to read all emails in/out of all employee email accts. And any of the employess be able to access their email through any computer. With SMTP/POP, this is going to be difficult. The POP model assumes local access to the downloaded material. You'll be using PSTs and PSTs can be opened by only one Outlook instance at a time. The best solution if the owner wants that much control is, in my opinion, to set up a Small Business Server (i.e., Exchange). All of the mail will be kept on the server and accessible by anyone with permission. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
