I am running Win XP (w/SP2). I recently purchased Office 2007 and thought I
might give Outlook a try. Perhaps "trying" is a better word! I diligently
followed all the instructions for setting up Outlook. However my problem
starts with inputting my name and password in each required spot (for example
in yahoo it is "incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.com" and "outgoing:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com". After filling in everything, it goes out to send a test
message. All I get is a screen showing my name (jim1812) and password (say
'aardvark'). It does NOT recognize my name or password. Nor does it work
using my other mail sites (hotmail and gmail).
I have tried going thru my ISP to no avail and, unfortunately, can't get a
response from Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail.
Any suggestions what I am doing wrong? Or should I just say to heck with
OUtloook and stay with my other mail sources? I really would like to combine
ALL mail groups into Outlook.
