Outlook 2000 doesn't work on Vista. Even if what Mellowed says appears to
work, there will be other issues.

I don't use Outlook 2000 for email, otherwise all functions seem to work
perfectly. I cannot verify the email function.

Outlook is simply a client software. You can install it but if you didn't set
up a mail profile for it to use, it can't do anything. However, since Outlook
2000 is not compatible with Vista there isn't anyone to confirm that you can
actually use it successfully with that operating system. You could follow
Mellowed's instructions but you also must create a mail profile for Outlook
to use.

Create a new profile: http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

To get the names of the servers you must set up for incoming and outgoing
mail, you will need to obtain that for yourself from your ISP's website.

If you're trying to use Outlook with Hotmail, you must have a paid Hotmail
account.
