Guess you'll actually have to subscribe to each group in which you want
to member at Yahoo Groups.

And how is this an Outlook question? Yahoo Groups is a private service,
much like forums, and you can't connect any NNTP client, like Outlook
EXPRESS, to them. They do send e-mails if you configure to get them for
replies to a thread in which you participate, but that's e-mail and has
nothing to do with whatever e-mail client you happen to use.

Non-Yahoo Group incoming and outgoing email work, and incoming Yahoo Group
mail works through Outlook. Outlook will not allow me to reply to Yahoo
Group list posts for some reason.

Any help would be appreciated.

So are you planning to elaborate on what "not allow" means? I could
venture some guesses but the possibilities would take longer than I have
time in an evening to recite.

In what way is this an Outlook question? If it is an Outlook question,
state your Outlook version, exactly what you're trying/clicking, and exactly
what happens when you do it.

Outlook 2007. I open a posted message that has been sent to my Outlook
Inbox, and click on the reply button to respond. The message appears to have
been sent per the Sent Items list, but it does not make it to the group list
nor does it ever arrive as an incoming mail item. (That sequence of events
always happened when I used my old computer and an older version of Outlook.)

If it is in the Sent Items, then your ISP has accepted the message and the
problem is theirs.
