Default Outlook "Attach File" Dialog Box Taking Forever

Hi -

I'm curious to see if any other users have encountered this problem or
anything similar; if so, please let me know!

**Currently using MS Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.8954), running XP
Professional as OS.

When I'm composing a new email and click the "Attach File" paperclip
icon, the window pops up for me to browse and select the file I want
to attach. However, when the window opens, it freezes - it takes at
least 5 - 10 seconds before it will let me click on anything (file,
folder, even 'Desktop' button on Quick Bar). I have no idea what it
is processing for that amount of time (for a relatively fast
processor, 5-10 seconds means it's crunching some serious stuff).

Anyone have any experience with this? If so, thanks in advance for
replying!
