I have a Blackberry 8700C and am running Office 2003 on Windows XP.
I have been able to synchronize my 8700C with Outlook using the USB cable. However, I have not been able to do such a synchronization using Bluetooth. When I use the Bluetooth connection setting software, it connects my 8700C to the computer via port COM40. However, the Desktop Manager software does not have COM40 in its list of possible connections. Thus I have not been able to connect and synchronize via Bluetooth. I artificially made the 8700C connect via COM6, which exists on the Desktop Manager. (The Bluetooth connection warned against that.) I could not make that work either, and even managed to send the computer into blue screen mode (I haven't seen that for a long time!). Does anyone know whether Bluetooth synchronization is possible, and how to do it. Thanks, Bill Edelstein Baltimore, MD |

Not an Outlook problem, suggest you check with the software maker to see how to synch using bluetooth.

Thanks, Bill Edelstein Bill, It's possible that your device does not offer Bluetooth services other than "Headset" and "Handsfree". This is the case with my 8700. I have not yet discovered if this is a RIM software restriction or an IT admin restriction. To view your Bluetooth services go to Options/ Bluetooth trackwheel options. You will then see the services available. Hope this helps. |
