Default Sent Items - User doesn't want them but gets them sometimes???

OK, this is the reverse of what most people complain about...

I have a user who does NOT want a copy saved to her Sent Items
folder. "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder" is NOT
checked. She says not all messages get a copy in Sent Items, but
some do. I'm still waiting for a response on whether we can tell
what may be triggering the save, like doing a reply/forward versus a
new email, etc....

Outlook 2000 with SP1 and Exchange 2003 SP2.

I would recommend to install all available Updates for Office 2000.
First install SP3 [1] and then visit [2] to install all updates that has
been published after SP3.

It depends on how she sends them. If she sends then from within another app
that has a "Send" feature (like Word), then you'll get the copy because the
other app doesn't call Outlook with the same API Outlook uses itself to
converse with the message transport and some default functions can't be
disabled that way.

Thanks Brian! It's possible, I don't know, that she might be using
Word as the default editor. I'll check that out.

Yep, that was what she was doing. So I guess from your reply, there
isn't anything I can do about it?
