Hello
Ever since recently, I have a number in parenthesis next to my calendar in the left-hand pane in Outlook. It says "(1)". What is the meaning of that? And how could I make it go away? If "(1)" shows up next to my inbox folder, it says that I have an unread email in it. But what does it mean next to the calendar folder? New entry? Other people may see my calendar but nobody can add appointments. I am not sure but I think that the "(1)" appeared after I logged in to my account via Outlook Web Access and accepted an invitation to an appointment. System: - Outlook 2003 - Outlook Web Access Thank you Sagi |

Hello,
yes, this should mean, that there is one unread entry in your calendar. You could right-click on the calendar-folder in "folder list" and choose "Mark All as read". Then it should disappear. No - this refers to the occurrence of this item - usually a yearly
recurrence. it is useful for birthdays such that if you set the first occurrence to the actual date that they were born, then this will show you the age on this birthday. -- Laura Rooke MVP - Mobile Devices |

Hello Laura,
I think the number next to an calendar-item is the number of occurrence, but not the number next to the calendar-folder in folder view, which was the question of Sagi!? The number referenced by the OP is the number of unread items in the folder. Recurrences never show anyt number in the calendar under any circumstances.

Thank you everybody for your prompt answers.
Roman Brehm's hint solved the problem: right-clicking the calendar folder and choosing "Mark All as Read". Thank you! There is also a menu item called "Advanced Find..." in the context menu. I should have searched for "unread" appointmens to see which entry was causing the "(1)". Unfortunately, this only occured to me after selecting "Mark All as Read". Sagi |
