Hi,
a couple of questions about using outlook with icalendar files. 1. where can I download the patch for this problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823199/ ? The only option I can find is to ask microsoft for support, but this costs! Surely if it is a patch to fix a bug in the software, it should be freely downloadable from the website. 2. How can I synchronise with an icalendar file stored via webDAV? There are some plugins available free that work with outlook 2003, but I can't find anything for 2000. The annoying thing is that this is even available in free programs such as mozilla sundbird, but all our calendar info is in outlook, as this syncs with our phones, PDAs etc. Thanks, Martin |

1) Microsoft doesn't charge for a hotfix for a specific issue.
2) Upgrade to Outlook 2007 or keep looking for a third-party tool. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Martin Eyles" wrote in message ... 1) Where can I download the patch for free then? You must call Microsoft at the Support Center, explain you have the problem listed in "KBxxxxxx" and request the hotfix. They'll send you a URL where you can download it and won't charge for the call. -- Brian Tillman |

... 0870 60 10 100 is a premium rate number. Is there a freephone, or a least a UK geographical no.? Went to http://www.saynoto0870.com/ and searched for Microsoft. Found the alternative no. +353 14502113 which despite being international (to ireland from the UK) is still MUCH cheaper to call that the 0870 no. I found on the website. (+353 is about 1.5p per minute, 0870 is over 10p per minute!) Got through to the appropriate department eventually, who were able to send me the patch. :-) They then said they would give me that department's no. for future reference. They were going to give me an 0870 (ie. premium rate) no., but I asked if they had anything else, and they then gave me an ireland no. +353 1850 940 940 Martin |
