Default Outlook 2007 - wrong unread mail count in search folder

I'm using Outlook 2007 (as part of final version on Office 2007). There
seems to be an issue with unread search folder unread mail count number.
When new message arrives, the unread count does not change as in
previous versions. I'm using IMAP protocol.

Is this a new profile?
Are you using a search folder on the IMAP account (which wasn't possible
in 2003) or where are you actually sending the messages?
If you take a look in the search folder, are the messages actually there
or not?

Default Outlook 2007 - wrong unread mail count in search folder

I'm using my old profile. Prior to 2007 version I used POP3 as Office
2003 IMAP was not very good, Thunderbird's IMAP implementation was/is
better. If I open my search folder (Unread mail account name) new
messages are there and the number count gets right in moment of opening
that folder. My operating system is WinXP. In office I tested the same
behavior on fresh installation of Vista Business, same problem. It
seems, that the arriving message does not trigger the folder search of
unread messages.

I'd suggest to delete the search folder and recreate it. That might
help.

Default Outlook 2007 - wrong unread mail count in search folder

Tried that. If one unread message is in inbox, the unread search folder
does not indicate any unread messages, number (1) is not shown even if I
open that search folder. And if second message is received, then unread
counts are following:

Inbox in account name (2)
Unread Items in account name (1)

Actually both messages are not read. I think that is a bug.

Yes, sounds like it. I have something similar going on here with my
Unread Search folder for a regular PST file. It tends to be off by one
(and this is with a brand-new profile, scanpst over the PST, etc).
Another item to take up with Microsoft...

Default Outlook 2007 - wrong unread mail count in search folder

Thanks Patrick for your assistance!

Talking of bugs, today I encountered a possible plaintext email parsing
error of Office 2007 on Vista RTM. The message itself was sent by
Thunderbird, the latest released version. In addition to the message
itself, all headers were displayed as email message. The same message on
XP-s Office looked fine. But this is another topic ...

Send me the unread mail count issue and the plain text one via email
(preferably with screenshots). There is a chance I might otherwise
forget over Thanksgiving You can get my email from my website.
