Hi Experts,
A friend wound up running autoupdate through a wireless aircard while driving, and the update failed part way through. When he launches Outlook 2003 his .pst files now show as locked by another process or application. He has restarted a few times with no change, so the unlock drop isn;t happening. Can anyone provide any pointers on how to manually remove the lock? Or pointers on what the best recovery option would be in this instance? Cheers! |

Did you try the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) against the PST file?

Yes, that was the first thing he tried, and it stopped on an error.
Most recent says the PST is in use by an app or process. He's tried killing every process he has running but it's still in use by something. neo [mvp outlook] wrote: Did you try the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) against the PST file? Hmm... well I was about to suggest antivirus getting in the way, but if he
has killed every process, then this idea runs thin. Get the same behavior on another machine with this PST file? "Fokinel" wrote in message oups.com...
