I use MailWasher to filter the spam from several accounts. (It works
really well, by the way...) When I am ready, I use Mailwasher's "Process Mail" button. This deletes the spam from the email servers, and opens Outlook for me or, more commonly, un-minimizes (or unhides) Outlook. In Outlook, I have to manually press the send/receive button to download the email messages from my servers. Is there any way to have Outlook automatically send/receive when it is un- hidden? I know it's possible to have Outlook automatically send/receive when it first starts up, but I don't want to close Outlook every time I am finished dealing with my email, I'd rather just keep it hidden among the little icons in the system tray at the bottom of the screen near the clock. It is not practical for me to schedule automatic send/receives because that would conflict with MailWasher. I use Outlook as part of Office 2003 and check several different types of accounts. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

You have two choices with Outlook: schedule an automatic send/receive or click send/receive when you want. Unless it can be done with code (and I wouldn't know how), you can't have Outlook perform a send/receive when the window is restored. NB: it is the scheduling of an automatic send/receive that causes Outlook to perform a send/receive at startup. -- Brian Tillman |

Oh well, it's not much of a bother to hit send/receive. |
