What FAQ are you referring to?

MailWasher's FAQ

Is there a link to it?

On the MailWasher web site. http://www.mailwasher.net/faq.php

Thank you.

I guess I don't understand your last sentence.

About what was I unclear? "POP Proxy", perhaps?

Yup! I'm thinking it(mailwasher) might have played a part in the behavior
but i'm not for sure.
I'm gonna reinstall in and see if it happens again. The mailwasher site
says it acts as "a first line of
defense" because I guess you have the option to delete messages from the
server when it's launched.

Thanks for all your help.

Newtechie

Yup!

A POP proxy is an application that sits between your client and the real POP
server. It acts as a POP server to the client and acts as a POP client to
the server. It allows filtering of incoming mail prior to it reaching the
client.

From my brief reading of the MailWasher FAQ, it appears that it operates as
a completely separate POP client that you use first prior to running your
regular POP client, using MailWasher to clean up the contents of the POP
server prior to downloading it with your normal POP client.
